Home Farm is a complex rural renovation project in the Midlands countryside. The farmhouse, forming part of a wider homestead, was abandoned after the departure of the previous owner, and was left to fall into a state of disrepair. As part of a wider masterplan to renovate the site, a planning permission was sought to allow the renovation of the old house, which is situated in the middle of the village’s Conservation Area. After a drawn-out planning process, we secured a full permission for the extension and renovation of the 19c farmhouse, including internal works and minor demolitions. Multiple designs were assessed from the early stages, until we finally fell upon something both the client and planners deemed acceptable. The construction is ongoing, and aims to be habitable before the end of 2024.
